Saumya Saraswat, who is currently seen in Imlie, in the role of Keya, spoke to ETimes TV about her struggles days in Mumbai. She started as a background dancer and then bagged TV shows.
Saumya recalled that her parents initially didn’t support her choice of career. She said, “My parents were not that supportive about me pursuing an acting career. They wanted me to have a regular job.When they saw my visions are coming true, they started supporting me.”
Recalling her struggling period when she came to Mumbai to pursue her career, she said, “To be honest, when I started, I did not have any money. I was not taking money from my parents. I took the decision to come to Mumbai. I was surviving by doing background dancing. I stayed in PGs. I have experienced almost every bit of everything. I met some good people, who were actors and guided me about the auditions. Then I went to the genuine casting house. That’s how I got ads and gained interest in acting world.
