Dipika Chikhlia (born 29 April 1965) is an Indian actress and politician known for playing Sita in Ramanand Sagar's 1987 television series Ramayan.[1][2] She was also known for her debut film Sun Meri Laila (1983), opposite Raj Kiran and three Hindi films with Rajesh Khanna, which were Rupaye Dus Karod, Ghar Ka Chiraag and Khudai.[3]
She did one Malayalam film Ithile Iniyum Varu (1986), with Mammootty, her Kannada hits were Hosa Jeevana (1990) with Shankar Nag and Indrajith (1989) with Ambareesh. She had one Tamil hit film, Naangal (1992), with Prabhu, and one Bengali hit film, Asha O Bhalobasha (1989), opposite Prosenjit Chatterjee.

[edit]Chikhlia made her debut as lead actress in Sun Meri Laila (1983), opposite Raj Kiran. Bollywood was part of the television serial Dada Daadi Ki Kahani in 1985. She meanwhile did supporting roles in hit films like Bhagwan Dada (1986), Kala Dhanda Goray Log (1986) and Doorie (1989) and played lead heroine in the horror film Cheekh (1986) and Raat Ke Andhere Mein (1987).[citation needed]

Actor Dipika Chikhlia, who played Sita in the 1987 series Ramayan, opened up about her real-life love story with husband Hemant Topiwala in a series of Instagram posts.
Dipika Chikhlia, best remembered as Sita in Ramanand Sagar’s epic series Ramayan, shared her love story with her Insta-fam. In a series of posts, she revealed how she met her ‘real-life Ram -- her husband Hemant Topiwala.
It was on the sets of her debut film, Sun Meri Laila, that Dipika met Hemant for the first time. “All of you know how sita met ram I thought to let you in on a secret as to how I met my Real life Ram . ..my husband’s family has been manufacturing and selling traditional Indian cosmetics under the name of Shingar since 1961....my very first movie that I did was Sun Meri Laila and in the film there was a scene where I model for an ad film and that ad film was for Shingar Kajal....when we were shooting for the ad scene, Hemant came on the set to watch the shoot....that’s when we first met,” she wrote in an Instagram post on Saturday.
