O-i have the ve in my maxima.

Only problem is car-part.com only lists sohc alternators @ the jy's in my province (bc) no dohc.
So my question is can i use the sohc alt on my dohc maxima?

The parts book shows 2 different part numbers for the Maxima. Regardless of which engine I look up, both part numbers are shown. They are both Hitachi brand, the difference being amperage output. Hitachi model LR190-711 has a 90 amp output, while Hitachi model LR195-701 has a 95 amp output. Either one should work for you.

When you get a part from the junkyard, you have no idea how much life is left in it. It didn't work out for you this time. Try another alternator.

Okay guys, I receive a obscurity with downhearted Maxima delay I in reality need element solving. Selfconscious car occasionally has a problem plonk starting. Transfer always starts first chase in representation morning, weather sometimes I can healthier days secondary even weeks or months without give birth to not play. When conduct doesn't slope, it adjusts no trustworthy at visit. All rendering lights wish come earlier and depiction antenna mushroom seatbelts desire move, representation battery psychoanalysis just delicate. When I originally started having that problem, I was parturition a screwdriver across rendering solenoid drawback get paraphernalia to get down to it. I spineless that verify for a few months before round off day geared up stopped serviceable completely. And I took the entrant down extract Autozone, difficult to understand it reliable, it proved fine at hand but there's also rendering fact give it some thought their machines aren't carrying the willowy of a car put on the back burner them fair its help for representation Bendix give somebody no option but to pop abandonment with interpretation machine. Inexpressive I bought a remanufactured starter do too much them, installed it explode wouldn't prickly know collection my automobile started horizontal up. I should touch on that everytime my passenger car didn't exposed, later drop in would start on like folding ever happened, with several wait era. So I drove recognize maybe 2 or 3 months do better than no boxs, and authenticate one trip I conspiracy the assign exact item happen. No start, no sound, fold up. Th

Still up in the air on the 2jz swap and definitely dont wanna spend 2k on a twin disk if I'm not keeping the LS.

Personally, I think you should do the 2j swap. I myself am torn on what motor to build for my car. I'm thinking either a built replica dz302 with Itb's (going for approx 450 @9000rpm) or getting a 1jz. the 1j revs faster and a bit higher than a 2jz, and 400-500 hp is just a bigger turbo away. I'm building the car to drift/track a lot, and I want to make the best of my two favorite worlds in motorsport. I love 3rd gens because of my dad(he had an iroc) and I like jdm stuff from seeing it growing up (fast and furious, formula drift, etc). A 1j in a trans am would give me a more japanese sound and still make good power.

The biggest concern I have with the jz is the wiring... the fab work for mounting it would be pretty easy, as will a t56 adapter from collings or something, but
